The St.Thomas Power and Sail Squadron, like all CPS-ECP squadrons, is staffed entirely by volunteers.  Without the commitment of our member volunteers, we would not be able to deliver on our mission statement to increase awareness and knowledge of safe boating.  It would not be possible to educate and train our members and the general public.  It would not be possible to foster fellowship among members.  It would not be possible to establish partnerships and alliances with organizations and agencies interested in boating.  In fact, without these dedicated members, we would cease to exist.

Our Squadron can use additional help with many different roles:

  • Instructor
  • Classroom assistant
  • Executive positions such as Secretary, Public Relations, Newsletter Editor, Webmaster and Port Captain.

To become a member of CPS-ECP, you must first successfully complete our BoatPro or Boating courses.  You can then apply for membership in the premiere boating organization in Canada.  As a CPS-ECP member volunteer, your contribution, even if it is only a time limited basis, will be most appreciated and you'll feel so very good doing it.

Share with us your passion for boating!  Contact (519) 631-2628 (BOAT) or any Officer. Better yet - come to one of our Squadron meetings or events to meet some of our volunteers and learn about the rewards of involvement:

  • Life-long friendships
  • Challenge yourself and explore your abilities
  • Gain new knowledge and abilities

For those who feel they do not have the time or ability to contribute, let us share with you some famous thoughts on volunteerism:

Never say you don't have enough time... You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, Gandhi and Albert Einstein.

When you cease to make a contribution, you begin to die.

Not being able to do everything is no excuse for not doing everything you can.

The noblest question in the world is, What good can I do in it?
